Wall Fountains Make Your Business Interior More Memorable
Savvy-minded businesses owners have begun to manipulate the psyches of their clients, customers, or patients. They have realized that first impression impacts the relationship and interaction people have with their business. If an office reception area is cluttered, unbalanced and noisy, the client will subconsciously identify these negative attributes with the company. Conversely, a well-designed waiting room or reception area will tell the client or patient that this company, business or physician is successful and can be trusted.
Corporations have long purchased fine art for display in lobbies and reception areas because of the same principle; they want to put forth the aura of success and prosperity. In recent years however, wall fountains are replacing sculptures. Why? These installations are not only beautiful, but they also have a psychological effect on visitors. Prior to an important business meeting, clients will be soothed and relaxed from the sound of flowing water. Nervous patients in waiting rooms can be calmed while they wait to see the doctor.
Wall fountains also provide some positive environmental aspects. Running water releases negative ions into the immediate area, resulting in a sense of well being and happiness in the people nearby. For this reason, many businesses place fountains around offices in order to improve productivity and contentment among employees. The air in the area is also humidified without the noise and expense of using a humidifier.
Today's indoor wall fountains are made of many materials, including slate, copper, steel, aluminum, slate, pebbles, and glass. Some fountains are contained between two sheets of glass and actually form a wall between two areas of an office. Others encase pebbles between two sheets of glass, providing not only the peaceful sound of flowing or splashing water, but an arresting visual display as well. Wall fountains become a changing piece of art benefiting not only people, but also the environment.
As with all fountains, some care and maintenance must be given to wall fountains. Water needs to be added regularly due to evaporation. If the water is not kept at the proper level, the recirculating water pump can be ruined and a new pump must be purchased. Some newer wall fountains have a self-contained pump, but water must be added to those as well. Distilled water is ideal for fountains, as water scale will not build-up on the fountain. This can be cost-prohibitive, however, but products are available as additives to the water to prevent mineral scale and algae growth.
Today, there isn't any reason for a business or office not to take advantage of all the positive aspects of a wall fountain. There is a wide price range when shopping for wall fountains, because most are mass-produced. Manufacturers can now add (or etch, in the case of glass) a logo or name of a company on the water feature. There are also artists and craftsmen who specialize in making one-of-a-kind wall fountains, though at a much higher price.
