Teacups 2-Cup Rain Chain Extension

The Teacups 2-Cup Rain Chain Extension is an extension section that will add 34 inches, and 2 Teacups, to the 80 inch Teapot with Teacups Rain Chain which is sold separately.

Originating hundreds of years ago in Japan, Rain Chains acts as a linked funnel that is a decorative alternative to a cheerless gutter downspout. Rainwater playfully dances and flows down these hand-crafted copper channels producing a pleasing sound as it is guided from the rooftop to the ground. A natural patina will develop over time adding to the character and charm of these delightful chains and cups.

Rain Chains ('kusari doi' in Japanese) are a beautiful alternative to traditional metal or plastic downspouts. Rain chains easily attach to an existing gutter system to gently guide the flow of rainwater to the ground. A Gutter Installation Clip (sold separately) is needed for each down spout opening. The rain chain may be shortened or combined with another chain for greater length.

The rain chains work in the winter time. They work the same way a downspout does, if cold enough the water does freeze to the chains.
