The creation of the cast stone Newport Garden Fountain begins and ends by hand. From the creation of an original design, making of a mold, pouring the cast stone and application of the patina. The fountain is produced in natural cast stone. Unless requested in natural color, the fountain is finished in one of unique patinas or acid stains. No two pieces will look exact alike and color may vary from picture shown. It is not a cause for return.To reduce weight and for better maneuverability, the eight foot fountain basin is made of lightweight Limestone Lite material. The lightweight basin is design to be enclosed by eight pieces of cast stone coping shown in detail below.The patinas are designed to replicate the look of natural aging, but unlike a painted finish, the patinas do not prevent the natural aging process. Any cast stone item with a patina finish will weather naturally in an outdoor environment. Because each patina is hand applied in a multi-step process and the product is photographed in natural settings, actual colors may vary.The acid stains create a bold, new look. These rich multi-dimensional colors bring a new depth and dimension to the cast stone product. The mixture of water, metallic salts, and muriatic acid create permanent stains in the surface of the concrete which will not flake or peel. Like stains for wood, each piece will accept the stain in varying degrees of intensity, creating natural color variations that brings character and distinction to each peace.
