A Guide to the Fountains of Bellagio

There are a lot of great reasons to go and visit the city of Las Vegas. There are plenty of awesome attractions to go out and see plus an incredibly vibrant night life. Many people come to the city just to walk through the streets and look at all of the awesome casino light displays that line the area. Along with these beautiful light displays you can also catch one of the most entertaining sights during a casual night time stroll. One of the most famous attractions in all of Las Vegas is the Fountains of Bellagio.

One of the things that sets the Fountains of Bellagio apart from other fountains all around the world is that it is not just simply a fountain of water to look at, but also features an incredible light and music show that the fountain is choreographed to go along with. This world famous fountain can be found out front of the Bellagio hotel. Tourists and residents can see this amazing light show from several different areas of the Las Vegas strip. The fountain show is scheduled to take place every half an hour. The only times the Fountains of Bellagio shows take place are in the afternoon hours and during the evening. Tourists are tipped off as to when the shows will begin by watching the lights of the Bellagio turn a light purple color. If there are high winds, a show might be cancelled until the wind dies down or less power is used during the show.

One of the most interesting facts about this world famous fountain is that it uses music in its shows by some of the most talented musicians in history. A few of the big name entertainers whose music is used during the performance are Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly. The fountains that are part of this magnificent display are located within a manmade lake structure. The water that the fountain uses is freshwater that comes from a nearby well. This well was originally designed to irrigate a golf course. This fountain display also boasts over 4,500 lights as well as more than 1,200 spray nozzles. The Fountains of Bellagio were a pretty expensive investment, as they are estimated to have cost over $40 million dollars to install.
