Religious buildings of all kinds are ideally suited for the visually appealing looks of a fountain. They serve as an incredibly welcoming symbol, but a church fountain can also be extremely significant too. They are a great way to create a peaceful and contemplative garden or courtyard space, they make a nice addition to a small vestibule, and they create an overall sense of serenity.
Consider that religious fountains figure prominently in hundreds of ancient structures around the world. In fact, there are religious organizations, churches, missions and ministries that all use the word “fountain” within their actual names. This makes it abundantly clear that a church fountain is a good choice, and they are actually incredibly easy to install and maintain as well.
Today there are a great many suitable religious fountains that can be mounted to a wall, set within the center of the floor, or even positioned along a tabletop. Many can remain outdoors all year long, though they may need to be emptied of water during any periods of deep freezing. They are easy to maintain and can even be custom designed to meet the needs of the organization.
It helps to know that fountains can now be constructed of an easy to use resin, all natural stone, a variety of metals, and even from such materials as ceramic or acrylic panels too. This means that a church fountain could be made from cast stone or resin and feature several tiers of sprinkling water that is captured in a basin along the bottom, or it might be a very innovative slab of gorgeous granite that is hung from the wall and framed in a lovely copper. This sort of fountain would allow the water to gently cascade over the entire surface of the stone and to create a soothing patter as it landed on river stones or another sort of basin below.
There are some considerations in the choice of religious fountains, however, and these items include the position of the fountain in relation to any necessary power outlets, the maintenance and care of the entire fountain, and any seasonal requirements too.
For example, any modern fountain is going to feature an electronic pump. This in turn requires the presence of an electrical supply, and quite often this will mean the installation of a suitable outlet directly adjacent to the fountain. Why directly adjacent? If members of the church or religious organization will be frequently passing by the fountain, it is far too risky to leave any cords in the area of foot traffic. By making arrangements for the plug to be installed behind or beneath the fountain, however, all such issues are eliminated.
Additionally, many people will frequently toss coins into a fountain, or simply dip their fingers in the water. This means that cleaning the fountain, maintaining the pump, and removing all debris should become a regular habit as well.
